The Faculty and the ICSI have maintained an ongoing commitment to developing ICUs and ICM in Ireland and it proposed and strongly supported the commissioning of the ‘Prospectus study’ by the HSE. This report Towards Excellence in Critical Care – Reveiw of Adult Critical Care Services in the Republic of Ireland (2009) and its outline of the national priorities for ICM is strongly endorsed by the JFICMI and it also endorses the role to the HSE’s National Critical Care Programme (NCCP) in its endeavours to implement its recommendations.
