Dear All,

As the year draws to a close, I want to take this opportunity to extend warm wishes to you and your loved ones for the festive season. Whether you are spending time with family and friends or continuing to provide vital care to patients, I hope the season brings you many moments of peace and happiness.

Looking ahead, 2025 promises to be another busy and exciting year for the Joint Faculty. Below are some key dates and events to mark in your calendar. Further information will be shared as the dates approach.

  • Inaugural National JFICMI Trainee Study Day, Mater Hospital: February 17th 2025
  • Training Committee and Board Meetings: February 19th and May 8th 2025
  • JFICMI Exam Preparation Course: March 10-14th 2025
  • JFICMI Fellowship Examination: Written April 18th 2025, and Clinical May 29th 2025.
  • Supervisors of Training (SoT) Day: Week of March 6th (exact date to be confirmed)
  • CAI Annual Congress: May 15th and 16th 2025

I would like to thank all staff in ICUs throughout the country for your continued dedication and hard work delivering high quality critical care services and supporting teaching and training in intensive care medicine and anaesthesiology. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the people who have contributed to the numerous JFICMI activities in 2024, the courses, meetings, hospital visits, examinations and interviews. It is with only your goodwill and enthusiasm that the JFICMI can continue to deliver improvements in training and for our critical care community.

Wishing you all a joyful Christmas and a successful and fulfilling 2025.
